Phoenix Software helped Copeland Borough Council address growing demand from its 52 councillors for greater flexibility to work remotely on their preferred devices. The Council also needed to meet strict UK public sector data protection requirements, cope with a shrinking IT budget, and move beyond an aging VPN-based infrastructure that limited device choice and made management difficult.
Phoenix Software implemented Microsoft Office 365 with Microsoft Intune, giving users access to email, calendar, files, and Office apps from up to five devices, while improving device control and compliance. The Council retired two Exchange servers, expanded the rollout from 52 councillors to 325 additional users, and completed the migration in 15 days. It also reported at least a 50% reduction in IT team time spent on management, lower operational and capital costs, and better collaboration across the Council.
