Accelerating digital transformation to positively impact lives

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUHFT) needed to accelerate its digital transformation at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic so staff could work remotely and continue supporting patients, but a shortage of laptops and other devices meant the Trust needed a secure way for people to use their own devices. Phoenix worked with Microsoft to provide Azure Virtual Desktop and a managed service to help the Trust move quickly to remote working.

Phoenix deployed a live Azure Virtual Desktop environment across the organisation in under four weeks, skipping a proof of concept to meet urgent demand. The solution supported 1,600 users and around 200 concurrent sessions, enabled remote clinics and access to medical notes, helped staff contribute from home, and reduced pressure on hospital space. NNUHFT reported 98% positive feedback for Phoenix’s managed service and has since continued its hybrid working journey with Phoenix’s support.
