Northwestern University, a research university serving about 21,000 students, expanded its online offerings with a focus on synchronous, interactive classes. Their VoIP‑only web conferencing suffered from dropped connections, background noise and participants talking over one another—issues that undermined engagement, community building and retention.
NU implemented PGi’s GlobalMeet® Audio integration to provide hybrid audio (VoIP plus dial‑in/dial‑out), advanced host controls and 24/7 support within the existing web interface.
