How the French Development Agency (AFD) solved critical sovereignty, interoperability, and bandwidth issues in video conferencing

Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the French development agency, needed a secure, sovereign video collaboration solution that could handle telework without overloading its network. Its on-premises Skype for Business setup was heavily bandwidth-intensive, limited in participant capacity, and lacked seamless interoperability with SIP/H.323 room systems, browsers, and other meeting modes, prompting AFD to look for a better option from Pexip.

Pexip implemented its Pexip Infinity / Pexip Secure Meetings platform on-premises, with Outlook scheduling, WebRTC access, Microsoft Teams interoperability, and One-Touch Join on Cisco terminals. The result was improved video quality, strong security and data control, easier administration, and reduced bandwidth usage; usage also grew from 14,600 meetings in 2021 to 24,000 per year in 2024, with around 2,000 videoconferences organized each month.
