Case Study: Queensland Health achieves scalable, secure telehealth to bring care into patients' homes with Pexip

A Pexip Case Study

Preview of the Queensland Health Case Study

How Queensland Health scaled its telehealth solution and brought healthcare into patients’ homes

Queensland Health, which manages hundreds of hospitals and thousands of care facilities across the state, needed a way to connect patients with clinicians from home, scale session volumes without replacing existing infrastructure, and provide a simple, secure user experience. They selected Pexip and its Cloud Video Interoperability (CVI) and Virtual Meeting Rooms (VMRs) to meet these needs through a competitive procurement process.

Pexip built a custom Queensland Telehealth Virtual Clinic running on Pexip CVI and VMRs that interoperates with existing Cisco, Microsoft, Google and other systems, preserves enterprise-grade security (HIPAA-level protections), and lets patients join via a single hyperlink and virtual waiting room. The Pexip solution has allowed Queensland Health to scale telehealth to coordinate and manage hundreds of patients, reduce administrative overhead, and deliver a seamless, easy-to-use service even for low‑technology users.
