Belfast HSCT needed a fast, integrated telehealth solution for time-critical stroke diagnosis that would work with existing hospital systems and allow consultants to connect from any device with exceptionally high-quality audio and video. Pexip’s video-conferencing platform was selected and integrated into Hospital Services Limited (HSL) medical-grade telecarts to meet these challenges.

Pexip’s integration with HSL telecarts linked the carts to the Trust’s ICT infrastructure and enabled consultants to join consultations via a simple app on laptops, tablets, or phones. The high-quality, low-latency video and audio improved remote diagnostic accuracy, sped up specialist access and decision-making, and is now embedded in Northern Ireland’s collaboration infrastructure after initial installations in June 2020, with plans to roll the solution out across additional hospitals.
