The customer, Whirlpool, faced a significant internal collaboration challenge due to its obsolete, non-mobile employee directory. The legacy system lacked smart search capabilities, was difficult to maintain, and hindered the ability of its 93,000 global employees to connect and work together effectively. Persistent Systems was engaged to develop a modern solution to address these issues.

Persistent Systems developed and implemented a cloud-based application called WhitePages, powered by the Google Cloud Platform. This solution provided instant search and connectivity tools, allowing employees to easily find and contact colleagues via call, email, or message. The results included high user adoption due to an intuitive interface, global accessibility on web and mobile, and significantly reduced IT maintenance costs, fostering better collaboration across the entire company.
