US-Based Life Science Product Manufacturer utilizes Lambda to scale and automate backend web application

Persistent Systems worked with a US-Based Life Science Product Manufacturer, a global leader in products for life science research and clinical diagnostics, to simplify and scale its backend web application. The customer wanted to move from a complex architecture to a microservices-based solution on AWS Lambda and API Gateway, while also centralizing logs, monitoring functions, sending IoT-based notifications, and supporting secure user access.

Persistent Systems implemented a serverless solution using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Elastic Search, Kibana, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, Neptune, and other AWS services, along with integrations such as OKTA and SendGrid. The team built 22 Lambda functions for tasks including API authorization, IoT message handling, email delivery, PDF generation, and data movement for reporting. The result was a scalable, highly automated platform with improved operational efficiency, security, reliability, and cost optimization, supported by monitoring through CloudWatch and ELK.
