Case Study: Largest Police Department achieves near real-time data processing with Persistent Systems

A Persistent Systems Case Study

Preview of the Largest Police Department Case Study

The largest law enforcement department in the US leverages near real time data processing to improve law enforcement capabilities

The largest police department in the United States needed a way to capture, read, and transmit massive volumes of transactional data from sensors, automatic license plate readers, CCTV cameras, and other public safety systems in near real time. Persistent Systems stepped in to help the agency manage time-sensitive streaming data from its existing environment and 250 external sources, using Microsoft Azure and MS SQL Server.

Persistent Systems created and maintained highly available, fault-tolerant microservice applications, architecture, and infrastructure, while supporting 24/7 operations across all three data centers. As a result, the police department can now process 7 million sensor data records daily for 40,000 active users, enabling real-time reporting and automated responses with minimal latency to improve law enforcement capabilities.
