A Persistent Systems Case Study
Virginia Tech’s Biocomplexity Institute helps U.S. government agencies and NGOs predict, prepare for, and prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as Ebola and Zika. The institute needed a faster, more scalable, and more accurate analytical modeling and simulation environment that could also be used by non-technical users, and it worked with Persistent Systems to address that challenge.
Persistent Systems implemented high-performance analytics improvements that dramatically increased the speed, scalability, and accuracy of Virginia Tech’s predictive simulation environment while extending access beyond technical specialists. The results were significant enough to earn BI-VT Constellation’s 2016 SuperNova Award in the Data to Decisions category, highlighting measurable gains in decision support for public health and security use cases.
