The challenge was to use blood-based biomarkers and longitudinal clinical records to estimate kidney disease risk, including a five-year forecast, so clinicians could identify patients earlier and more accurately.

Persistent Systems implemented data science and AI capabilities alongside complex software development, using technologies such as Python, R Studio, Azure VM, and Git. The result was an ML-based kidney score that helps doctors and patients detect kidney disease earlier and take corrective action sooner to help prevent deterioration of kidney function.
