Pizza Hut India, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, faced challenges with outdated manual processes for managing pizza deliveries. These processes excluded some customers, took up to a week to create new delivery zones, and lacked objective tracking to ensure timely deliveries. To support its expansion goals and meet the demands of tech-savvy consumers, Pizza Hut partnered with Persistent Systems (via its acquisition of MediaAgility) to implement a transformation using Google Maps Platform and Google Cloud Platform.

Persistent Systems implemented a new delivery platform powered by Google Maps APIs for real-time rider tracking, route optimization, and automated trade zone creation. The solution, running on Google Cloud, provided customers with live order tracking and gave the business advanced analytics. As a result, Persistent helped Pizza Hut reduce the time to onboard new stores for delivery from one month to half a day, maximize customer coverage, ensure on-time deliveries, and achieve significant operational cost savings.
