Case Study: Global Life Sciences Research Company reduces cloud costs and deployment time with Persistent Systems

A Persistent Systems Case Study

Preview of the Global Life Sciences Research Company Case Study

How a global leader in life sciences research reduced TCO by moving to AWS

Persistent Systems helped Global Life Sciences Research Company modernize its application landscape to become cloud-ready and reduce deployment time and cloud operating costs. The customer wanted to rework a .NET Framework 4.5 solution for AWS while preserving its microservices architecture and taking advantage of newer cloud services to improve scalability and efficiency.

Persistent Systems converted the codebase to .NET Core, built new AWS Lambda functions, rewrote some microservices in Golang, and optimized data architecture by moving from CosmosDB to DynamoDB with Neptune Graph DB for better-fit workloads. As a result, Global Life Sciences Research Company achieved improved application performance, a 40% reduction in operating costs, an 87% cut in deployment time from eight hours to one hour, faster reporting and analytics, and repeatable environment provisioning with Terraform.
