A Persistent Systems Case Study
Ellie Mae, now part of Intercontinental Exchange’s technology division, needed to modernize its mortgage loan data architecture after relying on a private data center where each customer had its own database. This made data access clunky, slowed down the loan origination system, and limited lenders’ ability to manage, analyze, and monetize their own and industry-wide mortgage data. Persistent Systems and AWS were involved in evaluating and shaping the new cloud-based approach.
Persistent Systems helped Ellie Mae build a scalable, secure, fully managed data platform on AWS, including the Data Connect suite and the Insights product. The new solution lets lenders replicate data to their warehouses or run analytics directly in the cloud, while Insights provides near-real-time benchmarking and industry trends across a dataset covering nearly 50% of U.S. home mortgages. The result was strong customer adoption, new monetization opportunities, and a platform that scaled through record loan volumes without burdening lenders with infrastructure or security management.
