BMC Software sought to expand its IT Service Desk offering into the cloud and reach the mid-market, a segment it had previously underserved. To execute this vision, it partnered with vendor Persistent Systems to develop a new application on the Salesforce1 Platform.

Persistent Systems developed a multi-tenant, metadata-driven Service Desk application, leveraging technologies like Apex and Visualforce. The solution was delivered through a highly collaborative on-shore/off-shore model. As a result, Persistent Systems delivered 10 modules in just six months, enabling BMC Software to launch its cloud product in one-third the time traditional platforms would have required.
