AGC drives continuous process improvement initiatives with DELMIA

AGC Glass Europe, the European branch of AGC and the world’s largest flat glass producer, needed to improve profitability in a highly competitive market by strengthening traceability, reducing cycle time, and ensuring consistent product quality across its global manufacturing footprint. Persistent Systems supported the initiative with Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA manufacturing operations management solution to help AGC standardize and digitize production management.

Persistent Systems enabled AGC to deploy DELMIA as a manufacturing and logistics execution system across sites in Europe, North Africa, and Brazil, integrating with SAP and OSIsoft PI and adding automatic RFID tracking for real-time control. The result was better traceability from sand to glass, improved quality, reduced waste, faster detection of defects and non-compliances, and near-instant response times—helping AGC increase right-first-time production and support its Factory of the Future vision.
