CGE Partners leverages Persefoni to align with responsible investing goals

CGE Partners, a mid-market private equity firm, sought to enhance its carbon accounting to better align with its values-driven, responsible investing goals. The firm needed a solution to improve the accuracy of its climate reporting, measure operational emissions for itself and its portfolio companies, and integrate this data in alignment with the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF). CGE partnered with the carbon accounting platform Persefoni to address this challenge.

Persefoni provided CGE with intuitive software backed by deep climate expertise and hands-on customer support. The solution enabled CGE to collect granular operational footprint data from all its portfolio companies using a shared, centralized platform, which simplified the process across different jurisdictions. As a result, CGE successfully rolled up portfolio carbon data into its overall reporting and helped one portfolio company set a Science-Based Target. Persefoni’s guidance and phased implementation approach empowered CGE to spur decarbonization across its investments and work towards more ambitious emissions reduction targets.
