Dragon Liquid Natural Gas (lng) Facility scales hybrid surveillance with Perle and 25+ years of security expertise

The dragon lng facility, a major UK-based liquid natural gas site, faced a challenge when it became impossible to source replacement analog cameras for its critical surveillance system. Needing to gradually migrate to an IP-based system while preserving existing analog equipment due to budget constraints, they worked with turnkey solutions provider Crime & Fire Defense Systems and used Perle media converters to create a hybrid solution.

Perle provided media converters to bridge the connectivity between new IP cameras' copper interfaces and the site's existing single-strand multimode fiber network. This solution from Perle allowed the new IP cameras to be integrated and operate seamlessly alongside the legacy analog cameras. The result is a flexible and scalable hybrid surveillance system that enables the facility to continue its migration to digital IP cameras as required, protecting previous investments while gaining access to new technology.
