California Family Fitness, a 19-location chain in the Greater Sacramento area, faced the common fitness-club challenge of members slipping away and being hard to win back. They needed a targeted, timely way to re-engage members identified as at-risk of lapsing before they stopped coming entirely.
Perkville’s Smart Save used machine learning to predict at-risk members and ran a controlled A/B test (10% received a 5X points offer, 10% a 10X points offer, 80% no communication). The 10X offer—rewarding a return visit with extra points—drove a 7% increase in check-ins within two weeks versus the control group, with 99% statistical confidence.
