The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities struggled with paper-based purchasing, data errors, redundant vendor lists and a growing procurement backlog across three regions and its marine and aviation operations. Periscope Holdings consolidated three regional vendor databases from 9,000 records to 3,000, integrated BuySpeed™ with the Alaska Marine Highway System and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport maintenance systems (including an offline sync for 10 vessels), and rolled out online requisitions, bids, POs and approvals. The result: requisition processing time fell from 4.25 days to 2 days, more than 33,000 requisitions and 22,000 POs were processed since implementation, errors and fax/printing costs were dramatically reduced, and the department realized $75,000 in salary savings.
