Provoc, working with the AFL-CIO to modernize digital organizing, needed to build actionable data dashboards from scratch to support the new Action Builder campaign tool and roll them out to 100+ union affiliates. To make the analysis compelling and operational for organizing directors, Provoc selected the Periscope Data platform to power reporting and visualization directly on Action Builder’s PostgreSQL database.

Using Periscope Data, Provoc completed a discovery phase, documented the data architecture, and iteratively prototyped reports in two-week sprints with user testing (including two demos to 10+ organizing directors). The outcome was eight interactive dashboards built on the Action Builder database, tested and ready for rollout across all AFL-CIO affiliates in early 2019—giving organizers real-time, actionable insights to improve outreach and campaign decisions. Periscope Data enabled the rapid development, user feedback loops, and deployment-readiness that drove these results.
