Stow, a leading international supplier of storage and racking systems, faced significant challenges at its Dottignies site due to a dramatic increase in truck traffic, which created unsafe conditions for employees and communication difficulties with drivers in multiple languages. To address these issues, they partnered with the vendor Peripass to automate truck access control and improve site security.

Peripass implemented a solution featuring a self-service kiosk for driver registration, which provided PIN codes for site access and automated communication via text message. This drastically reduced the need for physical contact between staff and drivers, enhancing safety and operational efficiency. The results included the establishment of a safer, more controlled environment and a system capable of handling 120 trucks per day. Looking ahead, Stow is planning further integrations with Peripass, including separate dispatch dashboards and a link with their SAP system, to move towards a fully autonomous registration process.
