Contentful, a digital-first content platform with 700+ employees headquartered in Berlin and San Francisco, replaced Xactly with Performio after struggling with Xactly’s poor user experience, limited multi-currency reporting, and rigid Salesforce-embedded data models that forced admins back to spreadsheets and made paper management across 17 plans unscalable. The sales operations team selected Performio’s commissions software for its ease of use, fast implementation, and stronger partnership and support.
Performio implemented an intuitive, automated commission platform with multi-currency handling, comprehensive reporting, and a sandbox for modeling future comp plans; Performio’s professional services also provided training and ongoing support. The result: tasks that previously consumed two weeks per month for sales ops are now handled by a Performio admin reporting to finance (freeing sales ops), commissions are calculated far faster than in Excel, reps can self-serve via dashboards, spreadsheets were eliminated for cross-currency adjustments, and modeling and reporting for future plans are streamlined.
