A Perforce Case Study
Sepura, a Cambridge-based leader in TETRA digital radio products, needed to consolidate several disparate versioning systems across multiple UK sites and outsourced teams. The development group faces frequent product variants, legacy support and complex merge histories, so they required a scalable version-control solution that would support multisite collaboration and accurate tracking of many branches.
They chose Perforce Helix for its multisite capabilities, merge-history support, proxy caching for fast local access, easy administration and third‑party tool integration. With ~120 users and a 45,000-file (100 GB) repository on Solaris/Linux managed by two part‑time admins, Helix delivered a seamless transition, stronger audit trails, synchronized toolsets, reduced hardware/support costs and a scalable platform for future growth.
