A Perforce Case Study
Ubisoft, a leading global game developer with a major Montreal studio of 1,600+ staff, runs all development in-house across many platforms and hundreds of separate project teams. As the studio and team sizes grew, Ubisoft faced the challenge of sharing tools and game engines across projects, improving artist/programmer workflows, and scaling source control to support thousands of users and terabytes of assets without slowing development.
Ubisoft standardized on Perforce Helix as its central source-control system—used by programmers and artists with P4V, P4GT, P4Report and the Perforce Proxy—to integrate with in-house tools via flexible APIs, enable efficient branching, speed distributed access, and simplify reporting. The result: a reliable, scalable repository that supports 1,200+ Montreal users (and thousands company-wide), reduces administration, improves productivity and collaboration, and became the critical backbone for storing code and digital assets.
