A Perforce Case Study
The University of Manchester, a large single-site university in the UK, faced significant challenges in its digital transformation efforts due to complex legacy IT systems and stringent GDPR requirements. Provisioning data for development was a major bottleneck, taking staff nearly a week to complete. To modernize its data infrastructure and accelerate development, the university partnered with vendor Perforce and implemented the Delphix data platform.
Perforce's solution provided self-service data virtualization with Delphix, which drastically cut data provisioning times and eliminated dependencies on DBAs. This allowed the university to accelerate application development, most notably for its digital housing experience. The measurable results were substantial: data refresh times dropped from 16 days to just 40 minutes, projects were completed faster, and storage was reduced, freeing up capacity for other initiatives.
