A Perforce Case Study
Johns Hopkins faced the challenge of building safety-critical embedded software for the DARPA Revolutionizing Prosthetics program under a tight timeline, while also meeting high reliability and FDA-guided quality expectations. To support this work, Johns Hopkins used Perforce’s Klocwork static analysis solution to help prevent, detect, and eliminate defects in the software.
Perforce implemented Klocwork Insight and integrated it into Johns Hopkins’ CruiseControl continuous integration workflow, enabling automated analysis on every code check-in. The result was stronger defect detection, faster feedback to developers in under 10 minutes, and an estimated 900 person-hours saved, helping the team meet project objectives on time while improving software reliability and productivity.
