A Perforce Case Study
EskoArtwork, a global supplier of packaging and print software with about 150 developers across six countries, faced inefficiencies from two disparate Helix servers (Linux and Windows/Unicode) inherited through mergers. With a rapidly growing 300 GB repository, manual code drops, missing documentation and backup scripts, and file case-sensitivity conflicts, the company needed to consolidate its version-control systems to improve collaboration and scalability.
Perforce Professional Services merged and upgraded the legacy servers into a single, up-to-date Helix server, performing cleanup and resolving Unicode/case issues (the project required extra consultancy time to complete). The result was a unified, scalable VCS accessible to all sites, access to new Helix features like shelving, smoother cross-platform workflows, and a satisfied client praising Perforce’s honest, efficient consultants.
