Crytek Relies on Helix Core to Maintain Code Quality for Its Virtual Reality Game Development

Crytek, an independent video game developer and publisher, needed a better way to manage its growing CRYENGINE development pipeline as VR/AR projects increased code volume, collaboration, and quality demands. To support faster releases and stricter control over code changes, Crytek adopted Perforce P4 (Helix Core) for enterprise version control and collaboration.

Perforce implemented P4 with branching, traceability, asset management, P4 Code Review, and Jenkins integration to automate builds and testing. The result was a single source of truth, stronger quality gates, and much faster release cycles—Crytek says final source code release now takes about half an hour, with the potential to reach five minutes.
