A Perfion Case Study
Eisen‑Fischer GmbH, a medium‑sized specialist distributor with 80,000 standard SAP articles and thousands more from some 4,000 suppliers, needed fast, error‑free access to a vastly larger product range and automated, easy data acquisition to replace manual lookups from catalogs. After evaluating several options, they chose Perfion PIM for its combined shadow database and PIM functionality, high configurability, and cost effectiveness.
Perfion delivered a shadow database and PIM solution with an open API live connection (the SAP connector was developed by Eisen‑Fischer) so users can add supplier and stock items directly into SAP order lines without creating them first in SAP. Eisen‑Fischer will fill Perfion with up to five million shadow articles to cover about 80% of their assortment, reduce interfaces to a third, and achieve major time and cost savings — including a reported ~90% reduction in time spent typing articles and freeing several hundred work hours per year — while improving order data quality, catalog creation, and margin‑optimizing supplier selection.
