A Peregrine Case Study
The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) faced significant challenges implementing its SAVE KC focused deterrence program due to fragmented data systems. Siloed records, duplicate person files, and manual reporting processes made it immensely time-consuming to identify the city's most prolific offenders and high-risk individuals, slowing down their targeted initiatives. To overcome these data hurdles, KCPD partnered with Peregrine to integrate and unify its operational data.
Peregrine provided a solution by integrating KCPD's disparate data sources into a single platform, deduplicating person records, and automating criminal history analysis and reporting. This enabled the agency to quickly generate accurate scorecards of high-risk individuals and frequent offenders. As a result of this data-driven approach with Peregrine, Kansas City reported an 18% year-over-year decline in violent crime, including a 34% reduction in non-fatal shooting victims and a 40% drop in group-related homicides.
