FirstMerit Bank Launches Award-Winning Website with Percussion

FirstMerit Bank, a diversified financial services company, faced an outdated, soon-to-be-unsupported CMS that forced the marketing team to involve IT for every change and left the website inconsistent with a recent corporate rebrand. To address these challenges FirstMerit Bank selected Percussion and its Percussion CMS to give marketing direct control, built-in versioning for audit trails, and support for a full site redesign.

Percussion implemented its CMS (with Boston Interactive handling the redesign), providing drag-and-drop editing, SEO auditing, version archives, and responsive templates; the new site launched in March 2013. The results: FirstMerit Bank won the Web Marketing Association’s 2013 “Bank Standard of Excellence,” marketing now publishes daily and makes updates without IT involvement, and the site gained improved mobile accessibility, consistent branding, and faster time-to-publish—all driven by Percussion.
