Wattpad, a social storytelling platform with over 45 million users who spend roughly 15 billion minutes per month on the site, needed a more responsive, high-performance database to support realtime reads and writes and fast community interaction. The company engaged Percona to optimize slow queries, review Performance Schema and keys, and validate their Amazon RDS environment to ensure provisioning matched their workload and avoid unnecessary cloud costs.
