3E is a global consultancy and software company that built SynaptiQ, a SaaS solar PV monitoring service that collects and analyzes massive volumes of power-plant data. As customer demand exploded—from 1 billion rows per six months to projected tens and then hundreds of billions—its original approach of many separate MySQL instances became unscalable and threatened performance and manageability.

To address this, 3E migrated to a single integrated Percona XtraDB Cluster (three physical nodes) and uses Percona Toolkit to manage operations. The MySQL-compatible cluster delivered the best benchmark throughput, lets all nodes handle reads/writes for load balancing and maintenance, simplifies node management, preserves in-house MySQL expertise, and provides the high availability and scalability needed to support the company’s rapid data growth.
