Micpoint, a 25‑year leader in telematics and mobile asset management, needed to prepare its database for an expected 25–30% business growth. Their Percona XtraDB Cluster-backed system stored position and tracking data for many customers but relied on application logic for data isolation, had no connection pooling, and suffered from large blocking updates and excessive swapping, threatening performance as workloads increased.

Percona audited the environment, recommended and helped implement an upgrade from Percona Server for MySQL 5.5 to 5.6, tuned configurations to reduce swapping, and advised shrinking write transactions and rewriting queries to cut contention. Those changes, plus an ongoing Percona support contract, improved cluster performance, ensured scalable, highly available operations with minimal downtime risk, and positioned Micpoint to expand its customer base without database disruptions.
