Invoca, a marketing-automation company that provides inbound call intelligence to help marketers optimize customer engagement, was storing massive volumes of call data on MySQL Community Edition in AWS. Rapid growth revealed that its original architecture and disaster-recovery strategy weren’t designed for current and future workloads, and although the team had sketched a sharding strategy, they needed independent validation before undertaking a major redesign.

Percona validated query performance, confirmed the sharding approach, and helped implement a much faster, workable backup strategy that eliminated offline migrations. The work left Invoca confident in staying on MySQL Community Edition, improved scalability and recovery, and provided a prioritized roadmap of further optimizations and tooling.
