A Perch Case Study

Preview of the Kate Spade New York Case Study

Kate Spade drove 140% sales lift and 45% increases in items per basket by offering endless aisle options and product personalization

Kate Spade New York, a fashion retailer, faced the challenge of demonstrating its customizable "Make It Mine" handbags in store. The process was time-consuming for staff, and not all customization options were physically in stock. They also wanted an interactive, language-neutral way for international shoppers to explore the collection. They partnered with vendor Perch to implement a smart shelf solution.

Perch installed an interactive smart-shelf display that detects when a handbag is picked up and launches a digital configurator. This allowed shoppers to visualize and customize bags with all available options, including out-of-stock items, and purchase in-store or online. Perch's solution drove a 130% sales lift, increased basket size by 45%, and cut staff demonstration time in half, allowing them to focus on customer relationships.
