Proofpoint, a provider of enterprise email security, data loss prevention, privacy protection, encryption, e-discovery, and archiving, needed a more flexible and cost-effective way to handle email archiving, search, and document filtering for its Data Loss Prevention Platform. Its existing tools from Autonomy Keyview and Oracle were becoming too limited, no longer supported key file types like AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio, and were driving up license costs.

Proofpoint selected Perceptive Software, Inc’s Document Filters from the Perceptive Search product family to improve content discovery and output technology. With Perceptive Software, Inc, Proofpoint gained faster text and metadata extraction, easier integration, and continued support for complex file formats, while also consolidating email archiving and DLP capabilities into one solution. The result was broader analytics across file types and platforms, reduced customer risk, and rapid rollout of embedded enterprise search to multiple customers, including its largest global client.
