Leading Imaging Core Lab needed to support multicenter multiple sclerosis (MS) clinical trials with advanced, standardized neuroimaging—installing specialized MRI sequences, generating quantitative biomarkers (MTI, DTI, fMRI, DIR, OCT), and managing large, multi-timepoint datasets under validated SOPs. To meet this challenge they engaged Perceptive to provide imaging core lab services and advanced MRI analysis and operational support.

Perceptive implemented site standardization (including installing MTI-specific software on scanners), centralized image processing and advanced analyses (lesion counts and volumes, lesion-based mean MTR, MTR histograms, DTI metrics and fMRI connectivity), processing 110 MTI timepoints across 12 patients in a Phase 2 study and supporting Phase 3 imaging that showed a significant reduction in MS lesion activity and a 52% relapse rate reduction versus interferon. Perceptive’s validated systems and scalable workflows enabled regulatory-grade imaging endpoints and robust data capture across hundreds of sites, delivering measurable clinical and operational impact.
