A Peplink Case Study
The Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Loch of the Lowes visitor centre, located in a rural area with limited fixed-line options, struggled with an unreliable single ADSL link that frequently dropped out and prevented reliable webcam streaming, video uploads, and consistent online services. To solve this connectivity challenge they turned to Peplink and the Peplink Balance 20 appliance.
Peplink deployed the Balance 20 with external antennas and one or more 3G/4G cellular links alongside the existing ADSL connection to provide automatic failover and load balancing. As a result, 3G/4G uplinks now deliver reliable backup and redundant Internet access, enabling consistent webcam streaming and uninterrupted uploads to social media and the website; staff report day-to-day operations are much smoother and the frequent dropouts have been eliminated.
