Seamless Live Streams & Communications for Avy Drones

Avy B.V., a Dutch drone pioneer, needed highly reliable connectivity for its BVLOS drones used in urgent healthcare deliveries and emergency monitoring. Because the drones fly at high speeds and have limited space and weight for equipment, Avy struggled with cellular handoffs and dropouts that disrupted live camera streams and communications. Peplink was brought in to help provide a more stable, compact connectivity setup.

Peplink implemented a SpeedFusion-based solution with FusionHub at headquarters, SpeedFusion Engine units in the drones, Transit Duo Pro or Transit Duo routers in flight crew vehicles, and BR1 Mini devices at control centers and docking stations. Using Bandwidth Bonding and Hot Failover, Peplink helped Avy achieve seamless failover, almost no stream drops in flight, and doubled bandwidth for more stable video streaming and mission-critical communications.
