Seamless Field Connectivity for SEMRECC Peplink and Starlink Integration in Emergency Operations

SEMRECC, the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center, needed a more dependable way to stay connected while operating in remote and harsh public safety environments where cellular networks are often unreliable or unavailable. Working with Peplink, the team sought a resilient communications setup to support incident command, real-time coordination, and mission-critical applications in the field.

Peplink implemented a portable hybrid network using a MAX BR1 Mini 5G and Starlink Mini, linked with SpeedFusion Hot Failover to switch seamlessly between cellular and satellite connectivity. The compact, battery-powered system delivers 150–300 Mbps of consistent throughput, supports up to 12 hours of runtime, and can be deployed in minutes, helping SEMRECC maintain reliable communications, stream video, use VoIP and GIS tools, and improve emergency response and public safety.
