Metro Corporation Rides on Reliable Connectivity for Light Rail

Peplink worked with a metro corporation in Asia that had already been using MAX Transit Duo units to provide commuter Wi‑Fi on public transport. As it prepared to launch a new light rail line, the customer needed a connectivity solution that could deliver fast speeds for above-ground service without requiring redundancy.

Peplink and its partner recommended deploying MAX BR1 Pro 5G routers on the light rail trains and stations, managed through InControl 2 for passenger Wi‑Fi, CCTV, and GPS fleet tracking. After testing and network improvements along the route, the system delivered average download speeds of 730 Mbps and peak speeds of 835 Mbps, with uploads averaging 168 Mbps and peaking at 180 Mbps, giving the metro corporation confidence in the deployment.
