KPKM Pioneers Bus Wi-Fi With Successful Peplink Deployment

KPKM, the Municipal Enterprise of Public Transport, Ltd. in Poland, wanted to stand out by offering free Wi‑Fi across its entire bus fleet while also gaining integrated fleet management and advanced captive‑portal/advertising capabilities. ACO Solutions evaluated multiple vendors and, after five months of testing, selected Peplink’s MAX BR1 (managed via InControl 2) as the best performing solution to meet KPKM’s reliability, multi‑user and reporting requirements.

Peplink installed MAX BR1 units with dual‑SIM support, high‑gain cellular and GPS antennas and directional Wi‑Fi panels, and used InControl 2’s API for real‑time fleet tracking and data export. The rollout was completed in about two weeks; the MAX BR1 achieved 100% uptime in trials, handled simultaneous users reliably, drove month‑over‑month user growth, and provided data KPKM uses to optimize bus dispatching and monetize connections via captive portals.
