Industrial Internet of Things, a half‑century‑old bottled water factory, faced the challenge of modernizing legacy monitoring systems that relied on analog sensors and serial/console connections. The outdated setup had no remote access or efficient wireless management, making centralized monitoring, timely fault detection, and scalable IoT deployment difficult; Peplink was engaged to address these gaps using its networking products.
Peplink implemented an SDX Pro at the site hub and BR1 Mini units at field locations, bridging serial‑connected sensors, PLCs and SCADA devices to the SDX Pro and forwarding data securely to the IoT Cloud via SpeedFusion/PepVPN. This solution enabled remote, real‑time monitoring and centralized management without replacing existing field equipment, resulting in improved operational efficiency, reduced manual inspections, faster fault detection and reliable, secure connectivity for IoT devices.
