Hyperlink Boosts SCADA Performance with Peplink in Remote Pipeline Operations

A large oil and gas company operating remote pipelines in Western Canada needed more reliable connectivity for SCADA monitoring. Harsh weather, isolated sites with little or no wired infrastructure, and dependence on aging VSAT links made it difficult to maintain secure, real-time communications, so they turned to Peplink and its partners for a better option.

Peplink and Hyperlink implemented a hybrid setup using Starlink as the primary link and a BR1 Mini cellular backup, with SpeedFusion Hot Failover to keep connections running if the main link failed. Managed through InControl, the solution improved bandwidth and reliability, expanded SCADA beyond basic telemetry, and enabled real-time monitoring, cameras, and IoT sensors; after initial deployment at one site and 10 more locations, the customer planned to add 36 additional sites and ultimately reach 200 locations.
