A Peplink Case Study
COMS Systems, an IT services and consulting company supporting front-of-house gaming systems across more than 900 clubs and pubs in New Zealand and Australia, needed a more reliable way to keep its facial recognition system online. The existing in-house broadband setup was prone to outages and required on-site technician resets, while a global chip shortage complicated the direct transfer of processed camera images to the cloud.
Peplink, working through partner M2M One, implemented the Balance 20X with venue broadband and 4G IoT SIMs, along with InControl 2 and InTouch for remote management. The result was a more resilient, securely encrypted setup with cellular failover that now powers the facial recognition system in 24 New Zealand locations, reduces maintenance costs by minimizing technician visits, and is being expanded to additional sites in New Zealand and Australia.
