Fast-Food Enterprise Finds Faster Connectivity with SD-WAN Solutions

Global Fast-Food Restaurant, a global fast-food enterprise with about 450 sites in one region, needed a more reliable network to support newly installed self-ordering kiosks and existing man-powered POS systems. Their single-MPLS WAN with a DSL standby caused orders to error out during failover, and they required seamless session persistence, secure offloading of guest Wi‑Fi to commodity links, bandwidth growth, real‑time connections to the data center, and centralized remote management — needs that led them to evaluate Peplink.

Peplink deployed one Balance One Core with SpeedFusion Bonding licenses at each restaurant and two Balance 1250s in high‑availability at headquarters, using SpeedFusion Bandwidth Bonding and Hot Failover plus InControl cloud management. The rollout across 450 sites eliminated lost transactions and downtime during failovers, kept kiosks and POS systems fully functional, provided centralized monitoring, and reduced operating costs (no recurring annual management fees beyond a nominal warranty), delivering faster, more reliable connectivity for the chain.
