Crossing Borders Without Crossing Out Connectivity

Large Cargo Vessel Company needed a cost-effective maritime connectivity solution for a cargo vessel sailing weekly between Germany and the UK. The ship had to stay connected across borders, the North Sea, and the Rhine, but roaming interruptions and weak coastal signals made reliable uptime difficult. Peplink was brought in through its distributor Frontier EU, with the vessel looking to avoid the higher cost of satellite-based connectivity.

Peplink implemented a setup using the MAX Transit Duo router, a Maritime 40G antenna, and FusionHub to create SpeedFusion Hot Failover with redundant cellular links. The result was stable cross-border connectivity, 100% uptime when the vessel was not crossing the North Sea, and uptime that never dropped below 75% during North Sea crossings. The Maritime 40G antenna extended coverage farther from shore, and Peplink delivered the solution at very low cost with strong reliability gains for the crew and clients.
