Cantilan Bank - Customer Case Study

Cantilan Bank, the Philippines’ first bank to adopt cloud-based core banking, sought to raise the quality of rural banking and promote financial inclusion by connecting all branches and ATMs to a cloud-hosted core and ensuring secure, highly available access to BancNet. Facing unreliable commodity Internet in rural areas, the bank needed resilient WAN connectivity, high availability for its datacenter core, and secure links to the national ATM switch. Peplink (partnered via NextLogic Distribution) was engaged, leveraging products such as Balance 1350, Balance 210, MAX BR1 Classic and SpeedFusion bonding.

Peplink implemented a HA datacenter deployment, bonded multiple commodity Internet links with SpeedFusion for resilience and performance, and used IPsec VPN over MPLS/IPVPN where required, with flexible branch and ATM rollouts and secure BancNet connections. As a result, Cantilan Bank now has a stable core and WAN, with all branches and ATMs connected to the cloud-hosted core and secure access to BancNet, improving the quality of rural banking, increasing redundancy and availability, and supporting the bank’s ongoing digital transformation. Peplink’s solution enabled quick, secure deployments and resilient failover across the network.
